Welcome to the Ski & Snowboard Club Information Guide.

2007 SKI AND SNOWBOARD CLUB SEASON 

Ski and Snowboard Club Dates*: Jan. 12 (sign-up by Jan 8) Feb 2   (sign-up by Jan. 31)   Feb.9   (sign-up by Feb 7)   Feb.16 (sign-up by Feb 14)   Feb.23 (sign-up by Feb 21)   Mar 2 (sign-up by Feb 28)

Day of the Outing: We will be loading the bus at Capitol Hill at 2:45 pm for AFTON  ALPINE CHALET. We will be leaving Afton Alps at 9:00 pm.to return to Capitol Hill. Parents/Guardians need to be at Capitol Hill School at 9:30 pm for pick-up. 

*Family Ski Days will be held on school holidays: Jan 26, Feb 19 and Mar 9 - see separate registration form

2007 PRICES

	Transportation (Bus)	$10.00
	Lift Ticket	$14.00
Bring to Afton ( Afton Checks)**:
	Ski package             $17.00
	Snowboard rental     $17.00
	Beginner lessons        $4.00

*Bus & Lift Ticket  payment should be made at the time of registration.

(Make check  payable to Capitol Hill PTO; on the memo line write "Student's Name and Dates it is for").

**The equipment rental area and lessons are all located in different places at Afton. Therefore, payments for these different options need to be made independently with checks for the rentals and cash for the lessons. This is the responsibility of the students. (Please make checks payable to Afton Alps.)

Scholarships are available.  Please contact your child's homeroom teacher or the ski club coordinator (Jan Mongiat Beebe beebe@citilink.com .

Refunds are available IF the ski club coordinator is notified before school on the day of the outing (we need to order tickets in advance)

PARENT VOLUNTEERS GET FREE LIFT TICKETS AND RENTAL!

Food:

Students may bring a bag dinner or money for buying food/drink/snack at the ski chalet.

Other Important Information: HAVE FUN!!!

• Open to:
  • Capitol Hill students in the 6th, 7th & 8th grades.
  • Parent Volunteers.
  • Capitol Hill Teachers.
  • Families interested in joining us on a Friday outing can contact the coordinator to arrange discount.  Parent/adult must ski with all younger children.
• People renting snowboards need to have a picture I.D.
• People renting equipment need to know their shoe size, height and weight. (This will be recorded by the individual onto the rental form at Afton Alps).
• First time skiers or snowboarders are required to sign up for a lesson.
• All skiers/snowboarders and volunteers will have designated check-in times; 6pm and 8pm. Watches should be worn!!
• We will be working under a "Buddy System" for all students. Green groups for beginner skiiers and snowboarders will be encouraged.
• Students who take the bus to Afton Alps must return on the bus unless a written note from the child's parent is received by the ski slub coordinators prior to leaving school for the trip.  We are not able to accept phone permission. Exceptions are also made for volunteers who are skiing with their children.  
• If you have an emergency and need to contact us at Afton Alps, please call Afton Alps at 651-436-5245.

Signing up for Outings:

1. Print off the Ski and Snowboard Club Registration Form and fill out completely. 
2. Write a check for bus fare and lift ticket (...see form for details). Make check payable to "Capitol Hill PTO" (on the memo line please write "Child's Name and dates it is for").
3. Attach check with above form. Deliver check and form to the Ski Club Envelope at Capitol Hill's Office by the end of the day on the deadline.
4. You will receive an e-mail /confirmation  letter once we have your signed forms and payment check.
