I have been teaching at Capitol Hill since the fall of 2002. Before then, I taught for 10 years at Expo II/Wilson Middle School. While there, I taught math, sewing, cooking, art and assorted other subjects. I am very happy to be here at Capitol Hill teaching nothing but art, all day long. I enjoy the creative and energetic students at Capitol Hill and their ability to find unique solutions to the problems given. I can always count on creative solutions to any assignment. My goal as their art teacher is to encourage creativity and help students understand that skills in art can be learned by everyone.
I
grew up in Wisconsin and continue many loyalties to the state, even though I have now lived in MN much longer. I came here to attend Macalester College. After graduating, I went to the U of M where I received a Masters in Design. It was there that I discovered my enjoyment of teaching, so I continued my schooling for 2 more years at the College of St. Catherine's and obtained my teaching license.
During my free time, I like to work on my own varied art projects, read, watch movies, and do Mom activities. My hopes and dreams are for more time to pursue those interests and for world peace.
