Administration Report

Principal Mariucci presented the administrative report.

Staffing:  An 8th grade science teacher has been hired and is teaching. An Administrative Assistant was hired and will start on December 4. Interviews are being conducted for the secretarial position and the position will be filled the first week of December. Principal Mariucci also discussed the coaching positions as they relate to the Parallel Curriculum Initiative and District Initiatives and how this relates to the Curriculum Coordinator’s position.

Principal Mariucci highlighted the attendance of 41 staff members who gave up their conference prep day and Saturday to attend the NAGC Conference. More details are given below under New Business. All staff that attended wrote synopsis of sessions attended and will share among the entire staff to direct professional development within the school.

Budget:  Principal Mariucci updated the Council on the budget and allocation of funding based on enrollment projections and actual attendance. Part of the discussion was focused on technology resources for teachers and students.

Security: Will Waterkamp will be attending the 12/10 Site Council meeting to address security issues relevant to Capitol Hill that have been brought to the Council by parents, staff and administration. The three buildings in the complex (as a unit) will be coordinating to ask Waterkamp to address the entire building complex and suggest strategies for addressing the security requests to the District that have not been funded. Waterkamp is looking into alternatives to the current walkie talkies in use that would function more effectively and will report on this effort.

Committee/Liaison Reports

2nd Language Task Force – The task force had an initial meeting. A request was made for staff membership on the committee. The committee will set up a meeting with Principal Mariucci before their next meeting and/or setting an action agenda.

It was noted that the subcommittees of Site Council are accessible through the Site Council website. The purpose of each Committee is listed and membership of each committee will be added (with Chair indicated).
