Capitol Hill Grading
Policy:
Teacher gradebooks accumulate points over the entire
semester in several weighted groups. Points collected from homework, class

percentage and letter grade. Some teachers assign different weights to
different categories. Please see the websites of individual teachers for more
detail.

We have adopted the following grading scale:

Capitol Hill Late
Work Policy:
Late work after an
excused absence:
Late homework will receive full credit if the student shows
the teacher an excused admit slip. If the student has missed one day of school the
homework can be handed in one day late for full credit. Absences of two or more
days allow the student two or more days to hand in the work and still receive
full credit. This should be negotiated with the teacher.
Late work not
involving an absence:
Late work will not receive full credit except when the
student has been absent.
Assignments turned in more than two weeks late may be
accepted at the teacher’s discretion. Please see the websites of individual
teachers for more detail. Handing in late work to receive points is one of the
best ways to improve the student’s letter grade.
Each day the work is late reduces the possible points earned
by 10%. After the fourth day late the work remains at 60% value until the end
of the semester when the gradebook closes.
