Hi! My name is Mrs. Jane Blumer. I've taught at Capitol Hill since the
program began in 1985. This is my thirty-eighth year of
teaching. My undergraduate degree is from The College of St. Catherine in Elementary Education and I have Masters degree in reading from St. Thomas University where I'm currently in the Gifted and Talented Certification program. During the summer I teach in the Summer Catalyst program for teachers at the University of Minnesota. I am familiar with the whole program as my oldest son is a former graduate of Capitol Hill class of 1993.

This year 2007-2008 the 1st and 2nd grades have been awarded a HP Grant. Our team's concentration is to provide our students with a rich and rigorous science curriculum using technology to connect the students with scientists in the field and their work. We want students to grow in their scientific expertise so they can become producers of scientific knowledge.
