Community Outreach Report:

Recommendations/updates made:

The Site Council should be present at the Open House for new students in the fall.

Question was posed if these events add value?

Mary Reis will be coordinating the Rondo Days booth, which will be located at Dunning Field at Central H.S.  Volunteers are still needed; in addition, Mary hopes to have the PTO add this event to its list of volunteer opportunities.

Letters to this year’s incoming first graders should be written from this year’s current first graders, welcoming them to Capitol Hill.

Welcome signs should be posted throughout the school during the Open House and during the beginning of the school year.

The 7th Grade retreat has been moved up. More information in the fall.

Exit interviews from out-going students should be integrated into the SCIP plan.

The staff is encouraged to incorporate coordination with the MLK Center whenever possible, and the August staff meeting will address this issue.

Roxanne Hart said she would be willing to pull together a communications team meeting in August.

Budget/SCIP Report:

In the meeting with the district and JoAnn Knuth, our area superintendent, both the Budget and SCIP were approved and the four main goals were reviewed.

PTO Liaison:

Moira Sweeney is the new chair of the PTO, and Annie Yetter is the chair-elect for the 2005-2006 school year. Carolyn will provide the entire list to the website for publication.

The PTO will be providing up to $4000 to deal with the cafeteria sound/volume issue.

GSAC Liaison:

Most recent update was given at the May meeting. GSAC is in recess for the summer.
