2nd Grade 'Hop'penings

Dear Families,

As 2nd grade comes to an end and we pack up and say goodbye to another school year, let us reflect on the wonderful things that happened over the 2007-2008 school year. The students arrived unsure of what to expect, met a new teacher, saw old friends, and made new friends. Our school community began to take shape, growing like a tiny seed. We learned to respect one another, care for each other, support each other, help those when help was needed, and to be responsible for our own learning. You could say we all went through a metamorphosis this year. Students became more independent, more willing to take risks, wrote from their hearts, read with meaning, think like scientists, and to look at the world through poets eyes. Everyone improved with leaps and bounds in their own unique ways. This is a TOADally awesome group and all of the students make us very proud with their accomplishments. We have truly enjoyed working with your children.

2nd Grade was an unFROGettable year! But we couldn't have made it through without the wonderful love and support each of the families provided. We want to thank you for the monthly snacks, making sure that your children read every night, supporting your child with daily math homework (didn't the problem solving get easier as the year went on?), making sure your child came to school on time and well rested, coming on field trips, volunteering in the classroom, helping find monthly current events, coming to support the folktale plays and the Authors Tea where we shared our books, stories, and poetry, helping out with science fair projects, and
