My name is Lisa Larson. I am the school social worker at Capitol Hill Magnet School. This year, 2007-2008, is my ninth year in St. Paul Schools and at Capitol Hill. Previous to working in St. Paul, I worked in the Chaska School District in a program for elementary students with emotional and behavioral disorders. I have also worked in a rural school district and briefly in child protective services.
I have Masters of Social Work degree from St. Thomas/St. Catherine University and graduated in 1999. My undergraduate degree is also in social work.
At Capitol Hill, I work with students in grades 1-8. I am appointed half-time in special education services and half-time with general education students. I meet with students on an individual basis, in groups and sometimes spend time with them in the classroom. I am available to assist students and families in providing information and referral services and may see students following an ongoing plan.
