State History Day: 19 Capitol Hill students advanced to the State Competition. The 19 students advancing were: Libby Anderson, Sam Bernick-Langworthy, Starr Brainard, Ellen Breen, Chris Dale, Claire Dunivan, Eliot Hart-Nelson, Corinne Henning, Madelyne Heyman, Anna Johnson, Laura Johnson, Chris Kramer, Perihan MacDonald, Sophie Maloney, Claire McGlave, Will Quam, Ryan Readinger, Anna Schmitz and Anne Walli. In addition, Rebecca Savelsberg earned the honor of submitting her paper for consideration at the state level.

National History Day: Perihan MacDonald took 4th place for her junior individual exhibit.

Math Counts: The 5th grade team won first place in regional competition. The team members were Karl Hommeyer, Emma Loude, Isaac Garfinkle, Mara Walli, and Kathleen Richardson.

Minnesota’s MATHCOUNTS Competition: Eighth-graders Eric Baudry, Daniel Kalla, Matthew Lesicko and sixth-grader Martin Camacho topped teams from 40 Minnesota schools.

Continental Math League: 2nd grader David White won a national award in the Euclidean Division.

Chess Team: The Primary Team including Jackson Bailey, Elias Hofrenning, Kamran Kelly, Tyler Wolfe, Kent Hanson, David White, Max Marckel, Michelle Mathias, Jack McKenna, and Ekaterina Hoffrenning won a stunning Eighth Place Trophy and Jackson Bailey won the “Best in 3rd Grade” trophy.

The Elementary Team including Gabriel Ngam, Peter Toninato, Otto Marckel, Praloy Carlson, Leo Neira,Andrew King, Ben White, Michael Ekker, Jeremy Martin, Ben Kalla and Linnea Peterson claimed the title of State Champions. Gabriel Ngam also won the “Top in Region” trophy; Otto Marckel, the “5th Grade Award;” and Peter Toninato, the “6th Grade Award.”

Schoolwide Geography Bee: 6th grader Zosha Winegar-Schultz won Capitol Hill’s Geography Bee and qualified for the state contest.  Fourth-grader Tommy Weber  was the runner-up in the school-wide championship round.
